Fee Policy
The firm advocates the need to manage and predict the cost of legal services, something that the prevalent hourly based fee does not accomplish. C. Alvarado-Jorquera PLLC has pioneered the idea of the Flat fee/Retainer concept based on standardized legal services.
Schedule of Fees
- Fees for Employment Law cases (plaintiff -employee) are generally structured on the contingency of success. C. Alvarado-Jorquera PLLC does not charge a professional fee if there is no success in the case or a plaintiff approved settlement. Normally the contingency fee is based on a percentage of the recovered moneys. The initial consultation is generally free of charge. Administrative costs and court costs are not based on contingency. These costs are due as they accrue. Notice of estimated costs is provided to the client in the Engagement Letter.
- Fees for Employment Law cases/matters (defendant –employer) are generally structured on the basis of a retainer agreement with a percentage required in advance and the balance required at the closing of the case/matter.
- Fees for Business Law matters are generally structured on the basis of the legal service provided. An hourly fee is available for some business transactions upon request. The current hourly fee is $185.00.
- Fees for Immigration Law matters are based on the specific immigration benefit sought.
