Fee Policy

C. Alvarado-Jorquera PLLC has an innovative approach to employment and immigration legal service fees for the Ludington, MI area.

We understand your need to manage and predict the cost of legal services, which is not accomplished by the hourly fees prevalent in other law firms. We believe that the attorney must bring value to the client any time his services are required.

We utilize flat-fees or retainers, based on standardized legal services, allowing our clients to more easily manage their legal spending. Furthermore, our "boutique-style" law firm can provide the "in-house” legal services most small to mid-size businesses are in need of, alleviating your need to have a full-time legal professional on your payroll.

Our Fee Schedule:

• Employment Law cases (plaintiff - employee) - Fees are generally structured on the contingency of success.  We do not charge a professional fee if there is no success in the case, or a plaintiff approved settlement. Normally, the contingency fee is based on a percentage of the recovered moneys. Administrative costs and court costs are not based on contingency - these costs are due as they accrue. Notice of estimated costs is provided to the client in the Engagement Letter.
   
• Employment Law cases / matters (defendant - employer) - Fees are generally structured on the basis of a retainer agreement with a percentage required in advance and the balance required at the closing of the case / matter.
   
• Business Law matters - Fees are generally structured on the basis of the legal service provided. An hourly fee is available for some business transactions upon request.  The current hourly fee is $185.00.
   
• Immigration Law matters - Fees are based on the specific immigration benefit sought.
